This is a response to the assigned task Yesha Bhatt madam on A Dance of Forests by Wole Soyinka. We have prepared videos on the summary, characters, and themes in this task. I have prepared a video summarising Part I of the play. Part I was divided into four parts so you will have to watch these four videos to understand part I of the play.
Wole Soyinka, in full Akinwande Oluwole Soyinka, (born July 13, 1934, Abeokuta, Nigeria), Nigerian playwright and political activist who received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1986. "A Dance of the Forests" is a play written by Nigerian playwright Wole Soyinka in 1959. The play is a satirical critique of the attempts by post-colonial African leaders to adopt European customs and ways of life, and explores themes of cultural identity and colonialism.
